The game was designed by Arturo García between 2000 and 2006 after an important work of documentation about the Civil War. Only 1936 numbered units of the game were made.
The game consists of:
- 252 cards (characters, armies, management, political objectives and military objectives) illustrated with archive images and containing detailed historical information.
- 4 boards (two side boards, a political board and a military board)
- 24 marker tokens (washers)
- 1 book of 36 pages with the rules of the game and various examples
Each game lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.
The gameplay is similar to other card games like Magic: The Gathering .
The game, in addition to using the military aspect, also makes use of the political, economic, social and cultural aspects, avoiding falling into simplifications. The game aims to represent the variables that played a role in the civil war on both sides in as much detail as possible, making the most of all available historical wealth.
