Obtaining, displaying and using
2-Ethyl-3-hydroxyhexanal is industrially synthesized from propene . In the first step, the propene is reacted with a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen in a process known as hydroformylation . This initially results in n- butanal and iso- butanal .
