February 26 is a neighborhood belonging to the Palma-Palmilla district of the Spanish city of Malaga , Spain . According to the official delimitation of the city council , it limits to the northwest with the neighborhood of Las Virreinas ; to the east with the Virreina neighborhood ; and to the south and southwest, with La Palmilla .
The history of the neighborhood begins in 1959 , with the construction of the first houses by the Provincial Headquarters of the Movement , to house the population from the shacks of Arroyo del Cuarto affected by floods the previous year. The building typology responds to 5-storey housing blocks with an H plan, arranged in a battery. The aesthetic language of the buildings shows the transition from the ruralizing style of autarky to the functionalist style developed from the 1950s . [ 1 ]
February 26 consists of about 500 homes spread over 25 buildings, in which about 1,396 people live. [ 1 ]
