The 2nd Army Division was a unit of the Argentine Army based in the La Plata Military Garrison .

History

In 1905 the 2nd Military Region was created in charge of southern Argentina. [ 1 ]

In 1917 the 2nd Military Region, converted into the 2nd Army Division , maintained jurisdiction in Patagonia and was made up of the III Infantry Brigade , the II Cavalry Brigade , the II Artillery Brigade , the Engineers Command and 14 military districts. [ 2 ]

In 1930 the Division established its command in the Army Garrison "Campo de Mayo" , on which depended the Infantry Regiments 5 , 6 and 7 , the Artillery Regiment 2 , Sappers-Pontoneros II, 17 military districts, the Mounted Regiment 8 and the Divisionario Military Hospital . [ 3 ]

In the early 1930s the Division Military Hospital was built. [ 4 ]

From 1938 it became dependent on the First Army . [ 1 ]
