Falklands conflict

The 2nd Naval Aeronaval Mobile Logistics Support Squadron (EA52) participated in the operations as Task Unit 80.4.2 (UT 80.4.2), forming part of Task Group 80.4 (GT 80.4), Task Force 80 (FT 80 ). It incorporated attached pilots and expert mechanics into the crew's Fokker F28 Fellowship aircraft . The commander was Lieutenant Commander Norberto Ulises Pereiro. [ 2 ]

The EA52 had a total of three F28 Fellowship aircraft and one HS.125 . Its mission was to provide logistical support and conduct search operations, in order to assist operations in the South Atlantic Theater of Operations (TOAS). [ 3 ]

Logistical flights to the Malvinas Islands can be divided into two stages, the first from April 2 to 25, 1982, corresponding to the occupation phase of the islands, prior to combat operations; [ 4 ] the second phase was from April 25 to June 14, 1982, corresponding to war operations. [ 5 ] In the second stage, the transfer of Exocet AM 39 missiles from the Río Grande Naval Air Base (BARD) to the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base (BNPB) stands out, where these devices received periodic maintenance.
