3rd Air Naval Helicopter Squadron - 3.ª Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Helicópteros

The 3rd Air Naval Helicopter Squadron ( EAH3 ) was a squadron of the Naval Aviation of the Argentine Navy .

History

On March 15, 2000 [ 1 ] the Argentine Navy created the 3rd Naval Airborne Helicopter Squadron with a batch of seven Bell UH-1H Iroquois helicopters acquired in the United States . The new unit was part of Naval Air Squad No. 3 , Naval Air Force No. 2 ; and was stationed at the Comandante Espora Naval Air Base to provide support to the Marine Corps . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The Naval Center donated the war flag to unity. [4]

On March 15, 2007, an Iroquois crashed ashore at Gobernador Edgardo Castello Airport , Viedma . Marines were injured. [ 5 ]

In 2007, the Squadron segregated UH-1H registration 3-H-305 and transferred it to the Naval Aviation Museum (MUAN). [ 6 ]

The Navy dissolved the Squadron on February 7, 2008; in 2010 the helicopters were transferred to the Argentine Army . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 7 ]
