424 is a Costa Rican rock band . Its history begins in 2009 and is consolidated with its current line-up in 2013 . Its members: the singer Felipe Pérez, the guitarist Guayo Mena, the bassist Lenoardo Valverde and the drummer Juan Carlos Pardo.


424 (four twenty-four) is a band from San José, Costa Rica. Eduardo 'Guayo' Mena (guitarist) and Juan Carlos Pardo (drummer) met the vocalist, Felipe Pérez, in a concert of their solo folk project, Flpprz. Years ago they met Leonardo Valverde, renowned guitarist on the local scene, whom they integrated as the bassist of 424. They started with the group on April 24, 2009 (hence its name 424) and for 2010 they released a homonymous EP recorded by Automata. (The Robertas). By the end of 2011, he began to receive collaboration in the production, recording and mixing of Phil Vinall ( Zoé , Pulp , Radiohead ) with which he began the process of making his first LP"GOLD". The album was recorded in a self-sustaining community located in the largest biological corridor in Central America located in the mountains of the South Pacific of Costa Rica [1] . After going a short way, having participated in the main concerts and festivals in Costa Rica, 424 released GOLD on December 10, 2012. The album was immediately well received by critics and fans [2] [3] . Just days after its release, it was cataloged as the album of the year 2012 and included in the list of the ten albums with the most downloads and digital reproductions in Costa Rica in 2012 [4]. In May and June 2013, the band began its internationalization process, receiving good criticism and immediate exposure. It was signed by CHARCO [5] ( broken link available on Internet Archive ; see history and latest version ). , a platform for the promotion of Latin American talent in other continents. 424 travels to Mexico [6] [7] on a tour of 8 presentations, from the Metropolitan Theater opening Hello Seahorse! , to the Loud Blue festivals in Guadalajara and the Marvin 13 Festival. Closing the year 424, he appeared with Carla Morrison at the Costa Rica Film Festival[8] . In November, the digital distribution of 'Oro' began on Spotify and other streaming media and the video clip for Gala was launched, being reviewed by major international media [9] [10] [11] . At the beginning of 2014 the band participated in the National Music Festival of the Claro telephone company and traveled to Austin , Texas to make their debut in the United States at the SXSW festival [12] [13] . They were also part of the closing of the International Festival of Las Artes de Costa Rica along with Bomba Estéreo , Astro (band) , Instituto Mexicano del Sonido and Vicentico. In 2015 the band reappeared on the international scene thanks to festivals such as Vive Latino in Mexico and Estéreo Picnic where they were warmly received by groups of fans who had already achieved on previous tours. During this period abroad, 424 was able to present his new single "Lógica" on independent radio stations in Mexico and Colombia.
