Meaning of the name "54 + 1"

For many followers of the Venezuelan singer it seemed strange and curious why the title of the album is called like that, where everyone associated it with an important date of the artist. However, it turned out that the number "54" meant the apartment in which Ocean resided in the city of Caracas, since from there come many memories and experiences that made him the artist he is today. While the "+1" stands for the single "Swing", being the only song he co-wrote with another person.

And it was there, that in the middle of four walls where the singer-songwriter gave life and free rein to the melodies and that the lyrics of the songs that were published in recent days, making it clear that a certain number of the songs on the album were written years ago because according to Ocean, these songs have been around for a long time even before “Me Rehúso” and they have “the sound of his room”, that is, they are very intimate and personal stories. Always prioritizing the honesty of the compositions over a sophisticated production.

An example would be the song titled “Báilame” , the oldest song on the album recorded before Danny Ocean emigrated from Venezuela to Miami, escaping the turbulent situation in the country, where the song remained unchanged since it was recorded despite receive recommendations to add things to the mix. A great success is that the songs are recharged in the vocal qualities of the composer and in his ability to mix tracks, as it is in the song "Babylon Girl" , a downbeat piece in which Danny plays with various rhythmic patterns that testify to your abilities to create memorable melodies.
