8-Game - 8-Game
8-Game is a type of poker game in which eight different variants are played alternately. The special thing about the 8-game is that it includes fixed-limit variants as well as no-limit and pot-limit variants. The variants differ significantly from one another in terms of their strategic character, which is why the 8-game is viewed as very demanding and is usually only played by experienced players. Usually the following order is played:
- Fixed Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball
- Fixed Limit Texas Hold’em
- Fixed Limit Omaha High/Low
- Fixed Limit Razz
- Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud
- Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud High/Low
- No Limit Texas Hold’em
- Pot Limit Omaha
The order is not mandatory; it can also differ.
8-Game is offered almost exclusively on online platforms and at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas . In the 2010 WSOP for the first time found Poker Player's Championship held an 8-game tournament of 50,000 dollars buy-in. The tournament replaced the $ 50,000 HORSE , which was played at the WSOP from 2006 to 2009. The Poker Player's Championship applies in addition to the main event as the most important and most prestigious tournament of the WSOP.
In addition to the 8-game, some online platforms also offer 7-game (without 2-7 triple draw lowball ), 9-game (additional No Limit 2-7 single draw lowball ) and 10-game (additional Fixed Limit Badugi ) as a cash game and Tournament on. In 2015 , the Poker Player's Championship was played as a 10-game.
