9 days awake is a German television - drama from the year 2020 . It was directed by Damian John Harper and produced on behalf of ProSieben . The biography tells about the life of the crystal meth- addicted actor Eric Stehfest . The script was based on Stehfest's biography of the same name, which was published in 2017. Jannik Schümann embodies the main character, Heike Makatsch can be seen as his mother.


The 14-year-old teenager Eric Stehfest regularly consumes crystal meth , partying all night in discos and is involved in fights. His mother and stepfather are overwhelmed with the pubescent boy. Olaf Hilliger, a mentor at the drama school, enables him to realize his former dream of becoming an actor, and he meets the beautiful Anja. Both encourage him to get clean. He seems to be stabilizing and the former rebel becomes a young man who has his life under control. This idyll shatters when his girlfriend Anja turns away from him.
