The Aachener Straße is a street in Dusseldorf .

Location and history

The street connects the districts of Bilk and Flehe . It begins south of the Mönchengladbach – Düsseldorf railway line on the central Friedrichstrasse and runs from there in a south-westerly direction through the districts of Bilk and Flehe. It crosses the southern Düssel and crosses the southern ring . At the intersection with Fleher Strasse, it forms Aachener Platz.

The street has a predominantly closed, multi-storey peripheral development. The eaves height decreases steadily towards the southwest. The appearance is inconsistent as a result of the destruction in World War II. Many buildings were completely or partially renewed.

A school building (No. 39) from the years 1904/05 and an urban housing estate from 1925 in the area of the numbers 112–124 are listed as historical monuments. [1]

The U72 light rail line (formerly 712) runs along Aachener Straße along its entire length.
