The author addresses the same problem in three stories, but from the perspective of three different families: the poor, the middle class and the wealthy. The nexus of union is the treatment given in each of them to the elderly, to the grandmothers. In the first case, Eloísa aspires to admit her mother- in- law Ignacia into a residence; in the second, the family tries to live beyond their means and prepare a dinner with posh guests, in Maruja they feel ashamed by the clumsiness of Nazaria , her mother-in-law; in the third, the famous Pochola who lives off gossip magazines, breaks her head to get the millions from Rosario, her mother.
