Andrade is a district of the Rivadavia department in the province of Mendoza , Argentina . It has a single neighborhood called Cooperativa Andrade, located to the east of the district on Calle Primavera., [ 1 ] and the town of Andrade located around the train station in the center of the district.
It is geographically located in the north center of the department. It limits to the north with the department of Junín by route prov. 62, to the east with the City district along La Primavera street, to the west with the Los Arboles district and to the south with the La Reducción and La Libertad districts. Its area is 18.25 km². It does not have a large area, but it has numerous vineyards and fruit farms. The name of the town came from a family with the same surname that owned land in the place. During the colonial period, the caravans of merchants from Chile to Buenos Aires or vice versa passed through the so-called Andrade post. In the 19th century the district was called Chilecito. The district is a flat area with an EW slope whose monotony is only interrupted by the presence of the Tunuyan River in the extreme south.
