Biography

Born in Catalonia , he was a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and a student at the provincial Academy. [ 1 ]

In 1857 he worked on a bust - "precious", according to the journalist Ossorio and Bernard - of the then general capital of the region, Juan Zapatero . [ 1 ] According to a critic of the time, the resemblance to the depicted was complete and had great finesse in detail. [ 1 ]

At the Fine Arts Exhibition held in that capital in 1858, he also presented some works. [ 1 ]

At the beginning of 1867 he was working on a statue of Saint George for the façade of the palace of the Barcelona Provincial Council , whose model was approved by the Academy of Arts. [ 1 ] He also made a sculpture of Queen Elizabeth II for the meeting room of the same palace, and others for the municipal council. [ 1 ]
