José Andrés De Leo (1967, Indio Rico , Bahía Blanca Party , Argentina ) is an Argentine public accountant and politician, belonging to the Bahía Blanca region. He is the current provincial senator of Buenos Aires and President of the ARI Civic Coalition in the province.

Biography

He was born in 1967. He studied Accounting at the National University of the South. From 1993 to 1995 he presided over the Bahiense Chess Federation. [ citation required ]

Politics

He was affiliated with the Unión Cívica Radical from a young age. [ 1 ]

From 2000 to 2002 he was Head of the ANSES of Bahía Blanca during the administration of Jaime Linares . In 2003, not agreeing that Linares would seek a third reelection, he ran for the internal of radicalism that year as did two other candidates, the provincial deputy (1993-2005) Juan Pedro Tunessi and the secretary of health and public works (1999-2003) Oreste Retta . From Leo he obtained 814 votes a total of 5.22% and Linares achieved victory in the internal, which would once again represent the UCR in the general elections [ 2 ] .

In 2005 De Leo was elected councilor of Bahía Blanca for the radicalism for the period 2005-2009 but in 2007 he moved away and joined the ARI Civic Coalition of Elisa Carrio [ 3 ] . In 2011 he was a candidate for mayor but in September of that year he announced that he was lowering his candidacy but that he was supporting Raúl Woscoff [ 4 ] .

In 2015, he was elected Provincial Senator by the Cambiemos coalition for the sixth electoral section [ 5 ] and in 2019 he was re-elected.

In 2016 he was elected president of the ARI Civic Coalition in the province of Buenos Aires and in 2019 he was reelected [ 6 ] . In 2019, the scandal of the taxpayers of Cambiemos was involved, also known as the 2018 electoral contributors scandal of Argentina, and the respective judicial case that derives from it. The case involved money laundering of the ruling coalition 's change regarding private contributions for the presidential elections of 2015 and 2017 legislative .. [ 7 ]
