Andrés Duprat ( La Plata 18 April 1964) [ 1 ] is a writer , architect and artistic commissioner Argentine . He is the current director of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires . [ 2 ]

As a screenwriter, Duprat won in 2016 and 2017 the Platinum Prize for the best original screenplay , [ 3 ] the Sur Prize for the best original screenplay [ 4 ] and the Miguel Delibes Prize for the best original screenplay at Valladolid International Film Week , [ 5 ] among other awards and nominations, for his original script for the feature film The Illustrious Citizen , directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat . [ 6 ]

Biography

Raised in Bahía Blanca , like his younger brother, the film director Gastón Duprat , he was interested in art since childhood as the grandson and nephew respectively of the writers Gregorio Scheines and Graciela Scheines, and by the relationship with a nucleus linked to the first cinemas local movie theater.

He has been an architect since 1987, from the National University of La Plata . He subsequently conducted research on art and architecture and exhibitions in various countries in Europe. [ 2 ]

Upon his return to Bahía Blanca, he created an art space that he called "La Casa" on a property owned by the Scheines family. [ 2 ]

Between 1991 and 2002, he was director of 2 museums at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bahía Blanca and, from its creation, the Museum of Contemporary Art in that same city. [ 7 ] From its management, the First National Symposium of Sculpture Monumenal held in October 1993. [ 2 ]

Between 2002 and 2004, he directed the cultural area and the Contemporary Art Center "Espacio Fundación Telefónica" in the City of Buenos Aires . [ 7 ]

Between 2005 and 2015 he was director of Visual Arts of the Argentine Ministry of Culture . [ 1 ] [ 7 ]

In 2015, Andrés Duprat was appointed director of the National Museum of Fine Arts of Argentina. [ 7 ]
