Foreign trade of the German food industry - Außenhandel der deutschen Ernährungswirtschaft

The foreign trade of the German Food Industry designates the exchange of agricultural - and nutritional goods (raw materials and finished products) of companies in Germany with companies abroad.

The German agricultural export refers to the export of agricultural and food products from the Federal Republic of Germany by (agricultural) companies.

Agricultural exports from Germany in 2012 totaled 60.1 billion euros. [1] In the first quarter of 2013, the agricultural exports rose by 7.3 percent compared to the first half of 2012 to a total of 31 billion euros. Exported meat and meat products accounted for a total of 4.4 billion euros, which corresponds to an increase of two percent. About 80 percent of the exports went to countries of the common EU internal market. Exports to third countries are changing dynamically - more goods are being exported. [2]

Germany has had an export surplus of animal foods such as milk , meat and meat products since 2007 . The Federal Statistical Office also lists how many live animals are imported and exported to Germany. (See also: Cross-border live transports in Germany )
