The Solidarity and Social Investment Fund (FOSIS) is a service of the Government of Chile , created on October 26, 1990. It has 16 regional offices and 20 provincial offices; and it is related to the Presidency of the Republic through the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MDSF).
Annually, FOSIS works with about 120 thousand users. For this, it has a budget of more than 80 billion pesos .
According to the provisions of the Organic Law of FOSIS, the direction of the institution corresponds to a Council that will be the superior authority of the Service. This Council delegates its functions and powers to the Executive Director of FOSIS.
Its mission is: "To contribute to overcoming poverty and the social vulnerability of individuals, families and communities."
