Jörg Weißelberg came to music very early. Initially, he took guitar lessons for a few years, but then developed his musical skills mainly as an autodidact. His musical career brought him to work as a professional musician in the GDR at a young age . So he started various projects and began to play in various, then well-known bands. After the fall of the wall he founded the band " The Backyards " ("She's on the Run" - WEA ), where he tried his hand at songwriting for the first time and also acted as a singer. His first experiences in the studio, which strongly influenced him, came from Edo Zanki . That moved him to develop further as a studio musician.
Since 2001, Weißelberg has been guitarist and musical director of Jeanette Biedermann's band , with whom he toured across Europe. In addition, he works for her as a composer and producer and founded the band "Ewig" with her. The professional collaboration also resulted in a private relationship and in summer 2012 he married the singer.
Together with his childhood friend Steffen Langenfeld, he ran the "Backyard Music Studio" at the same time. During this time he got to know the band Silbermond and worked with them in the studio for two years. He wrote songs for and with them, which can later be heard on the successful 2004 debut album "Waste Your Time" (900,000 copies sold). He also worked for other artists as a songwriter and producer, e. E.g. for Jeanette Biedermann (album "Naked Truth" - Universal ) or Selina (album "Girls always come ... (to the destination)" - EMI ).
In 2008 he founded the " Acoustic Lounge " project together with musical friends . There he dedicates himself to the acoustic interpretation of current chart songs. Some of the versions could be heard in 2009 in the Sat.1 -Telenovela Anna und die Liebe .
Since 2010 Weißelberg has been part of the producer team at the Mitte-Studios Berlin based in the buildings of the Hansa-Tonstudios , where he has since preferred to work in his own studio space. From the beginning of 2011 to March 2012 he was guitarist for Thomas Godoj . In early 2012, the band Ewig was founded by Jeanette Biedermann , Christian Bömkes and himself. Their first single One Step Further was released on August 31, 2012 followed by the debut album We are forever on September 14 2012th
The work for Radio Bremen - Tatort " Smoldering " led Weißelberg to the area of film music . Other musical works for TV and cinema were the theme songs for the films " Freche Mädchen " and " Freche Mädchen 2 " ( Constantin Film - 1.5 million visitors), which he wrote together with Jeanette Biedermann . In 2012 he was seen in the ARD pre-evening program Hauptstadtrevier Die Doppelgängerin , in which Ewig had a guest appearance.
Weißelberg can be heard on countless national and international productions and No. 1 hits through his work as a studio musician. Among other things, he played the Grand Prix title of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 " Satellite " by Lena Meyer-Landrut as a guitarist. Above all, his song-related and modern style, which shaped the sound of Silbermond , among others , led to numerous obligations with many producers and artists.
For example, he played on the albums and singles of the following artists and bands: Jennifer Rush , Lena Meyer-Landrut , Cinema Bizarre , Silbermond , Udo Jürgens , Rick Springfield , New Kids on the Block , Joana Zimmer , Die Prinzen , Tobias Regner , Eisblume , Bell, Book & Candle , Chris Norman , Thomas Godoj , Christian Durstewitz , Jeanette Biedermann , Marc Terenzi , Lisa Bund ,Yvonne Catterfeld , Maike von Bremen , Tata Young , Timothy James , Nik P. , DJ Ötzi , Jordan Knight , Glasperlenspiel , Roland Kaiser , Gracia Baur , Preluders , Frank Zander , Acoustic Revolution , Die Blauen Engel, Mike Leon Grosch , Oliver Wimmer , The Black Pony and many others.
