Jörg Widmoser also Joerg Widmoser (born September 8, 1955 in Munich ) is an Austrian composer and violinist of modern jazz , rock, pop, crossover.

Live and act

Widmoser was initially an autodidact as a violinist , but then studied from 1975 to 1980 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. With his formation “Up” he recorded the album “Inside”, which in 1983 received the German Phono Academy Award. In the same year he founded the “ Modern String Quartet ” with which he performed in Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA and released 20 albums. Widmoser also worked in a duo with Hajo Hoffmann and with Chris Beier , Rainer Glas , Ingrid Jensen , Tony Williams, Bob Dorough, Joey de Francesco, Barbara Dennerlein , Klaus Doldinger , Charlie Mariano, Joe Haider , The German, Jazz Violin, The Fiddlers Three (with John Blake and Claude Williams), with the Brandenburger Symphoniker and the chamber orchestra Schloß Werneck , in the "Munich Violin Summit" with Mic Oechsner and Hannes Beckmann and with Andreas Wiersich's Dracula- Project "Der Graf". In 2002 Widmoser composed two works for symphony orchestra and jazz trio, which were premiered in Dresden and recorded on CD. Widmoser has been a founding member of the world music group Radio Europa since 2002.
