Rosario Ortega ( Miami , United States ; November 9 , 1985 ) is a singer of American - Argentine nationality . She is the daughter of singer-songwriter Palito Ortega and actress Evangelina Salazar , sister of actress Julieta Ortega , singer and actor Emanuel Ortega , producer Sebastián Ortega , Emmy-winning producer Martín Ortega, and director Luis Ortega .
Rosario was born in Miami and lived there until she was 5 years old. When Palito , his father, was elected governor of Tucumán , part of the family moved to the outskirts of the provincial capital. At 16, after the failure of Palito's political administration, the family again took refuge in Miami. She played music on the computer and learned to sing. At 19 he returned to Buenos Aires where he began to study guitar and composed his first song, entitled "Se va". [ 1 ] She was later summoned by Jesse Harris , producer and author of the songs on Norah Jones' first album., and by Ethan Hawke to be part of the soundtrack of the film " The Hottest State ", which also features Norah Jones, Willie Nelson , Cat Power and Bright Eyes, among others. Between 2008 and 2009 he was the vocalist of the band Entre Ríos, with whom he recorded his self-titled album. [ 2 ] In 2011 she was chosen by Charly García to be the vocalist for his band The Prostitution and in 2012 she released her first solo album (also produced by Jesse Harris) for which she was nominated for a Grammy for best new artist.
