Detail of the Headless Horseman Chasing Ichabod Crane , by John Quidor

Terror (from Latin terrōr , genitive terrōris ) is the feeling of fear or phobia on its maximum scale. If fear is defined as a survival scheme , it can be assumed that terror occurs when fear has overcome the controls of the brain and can no longer be thought rationally. [ 1 ]

In severe cases, it can lead to complete paralysis of the body, cold sweats and even death from cardiac arrest.

Terror is also called literary , cinematographic or comic genres that aim to provoke a sensation of extreme fear in the reader or the spectator. [ 1 ]
